our wedding through the focused linz: nottoway + the night before.

this week i am sharing some of my favorite photos that lindsey snapped during our wedding weekend.

our wedding weekend was held at nottoway plantation. as discussed here, the venue had significant meaning to me & my family. lindsey's photos captured the grounds beautifully. here are a few of my favorites...

our rehearsal dinner out by the pool ran decently smoothly: the BBQ was delicious, & we loved hearing the speeches given by my dad, my maid of honor, & justin's best man. but, oh, how high my stress levels were running! and the thought of my weird, rambly speech still embarrasses me a little bit to this day. oh well, not everything can be perfect, & all-in-all, it was very nice.

if we could have a re-do, i think we'd choose to have the dinner inside - hello, mosquitoes!

following the BBQ rehearsal dinner, we traipsed across the grounds to where the ceremony was to be held, so that we could go over where everyone was to stand, the flow of events, & all of that official stuff. there had been a wedding in our ceremony spot the night of our rehearsal dinner, & there were still flower petals lining the aisle. and i just love the way nottoway is lit up at night: the spotlight on the front of the main house, the twinkle lights illuminating the details...

i love the orange glow emitted from within the house

after all the rehearsal festivities [and a pre-wedding gift exchange between justin & me], the girls thew me a little lingerie soiree, complete with pink-boxed-goodies, bubbly, & a bridesmaids viewing. though my stress levels were running inexplicably high, this night is such a fond memory.

we are dorks

though i was a stress-machine the night before our wedding day, i was eagerly awaiting all the festivities that lay ahead. tomorrow, i'll be sharing my favorite images from the big day, including our morning in the dressing room & the ceremony.

Oh your venue was just gorgeous! I think everyone has those moments where they look back on their wedding and would have changed a thing or two. Some of those moments are even fun to look back on and laugh about later. :)

Nottoway at night is just lovely all lit up by the beautiful glow of twinkle lights. Can't wait to see more pictures.

love you too, ma'am! i'm so glad you were able to snap so many photos of our weekend.

the back and forth.

Justin had to turn on the air conditioner again last night.  It's October 26 - doesn't that mean the heater can stay on? Doesn't...
