starbucks sunday: the joy of a long weekend.

as i was headed toward today's starbucks sunday experience, i could feel that i was craving something fresh and different. don't get me wrong - i love a pumpkin spice latte just as much as the next person; however, the truth is that i have burnt myself out on them a bit (i know... who knew that was even possible?)

as i perused the menu, something caught my eye - something i had not ordered while within the sacred walls of starbucks for quite some time: a tall nonfat green tea frapuccino. and i may just die of embarrassment when i tell you about the cake pop. ohhh, the cake pop... i'd be lying if i said i hadn't wanted one with pretty much each starbucks trip (which, as you know, is a lot) since they've been available. and as i stood in the long line of coffee cravers, i saw a perfectly pink cake pop staring back at me, promising me that it would look simply stunning alongside the green of the green tea frapuccino.

that will look fabulous on the blog for my starbucks sunday post*, i thought (thankfully not aloud) to myself. add in the eminent deliciousness, & i was sold.

'... and a birthday cake pop,' i asked of the barista. she didn't need to know it wasn't my birthday.

and as you may have guessed from the title of this post, it is indeed a long weekend for me, owing to columbus day. thank you so much, christopher columbus... really. thank you.

and though it's true that this is a three-day weekend, i somehow found myself sitting in my office today in order to meet a rather painstaking deadline. luckily, i was in and out within an hour, so it was relatively painless. and the weekend's events preceding my little stint in the office have been lovely: superior salads, lsu florida game viewing with friends (lindsey came to play, too!), & for lunch today, some of my very favorite guilty pleasure mexican food: posados. and with the whole evening (and an entire bonus day tomorrow) ahead of me, it looks like i'll finally be getting some reading & working out crossed off my list.

here's to long weekends, starbucks, & the productive promise of days off work.

Hahahaha I'm glad I'm not the only person who plans things in real life according to how I can blog about them! I feel less strange now. :)

the back and forth.

Justin had to turn on the air conditioner again last night.  It's October 26 - doesn't that mean the heater can stay on? Doesn't...
